April and I got tickets for all the kids and drove to Sacramento to ride the Polar Express. The kids wore their jammies, had some cookies and hot chocolate, and got to visit with Santa as he gave them each a BELL. It was a magical day and a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

We had a FANTASTIC time camping, in the Tent Cabins, in Curry Village. Grammy and Grampy kept us hiking and biking! The falls were all rushing with water. It was absolutely beautiful! Definitely an amazing site to see and a perfect place for FAMILY FUN!

We were able to go to the Reno Temple with Kylie on her first Youth Temple Trip. It was an awesome experience. I really felt the spirit while we were there. It was an extra special experience for Kylie because she was also able to share it with one of her best friends, Maddie. Maddie's 12th birthday was only a few days after Kylie's.

It was time for some warm sunshine, so we headed to California for Spring Break. We had a great time at Knott's Berry Farm with both the Fox and Melville Families. After a few years of suffering, Micah finally found some relief when he found the Surgeon that could help fix the injury to his hip. This was Micah's first experience with General Anesthetic. He was the perfect patient and he did very well getting use to his new crutches.

Christmas was celebrated in Nevada, three days later this year. After returning from California, we were able to spend some time with my brother and his family, at my parents home. They still live in Arizona and were here visiting for the holiday. We managed to get a family picture in my Dad's Sleigh. Not enough snow on the ground for a sleigh ride, though. Maybe, next year?

We enjoyed Christmas in San Diego, visiting with lots of family! We were able to attend the traditional RHEAD FAMILY Christmas Eve party. The kids sure LOVED being with their cousins. { I think that was one of their favorite things about the holiday.} This was an unusual Christmas for us. It was the 1st Christmas that our kids didn't get to wake up in their own bed. I was really struggling with this, but they sure didn't seem any worse for the wear. Santa managed to find us at Papa and Grandma Great's house. We are so grateful for the birth of our Savior and for His example.

Well, it was another FUN weekend cheering on our Lil' Cheerleaders. They had two different competitions this weekend. The first one was in San Francisco and both of their squads took a FIRST PLACE. They also qualified for Nationals in Las Vegas on February 19th, 20th, & 21st. The second competition was in Davis, CA. Kylie's squad took FIRST PLACE and Paige's squad took THIRD PLACE. Both girls did GREAT and they had lots of FUN! LIGHTS AT THE OAKLAND TEMPLE

We were in Northern California for the weekend. Kylie and Paige had another CHEER competition, so we decided to make the most of it and did a few other FUN things while we were in the area. After doing some sight seeing and spending some time at FISHERMAN'S WHARF in San Francisco, we were able to visit with our dear friends, The Goett family. We went to Fenton's for some YUMMY Ice Cream. Then, we went to see the beautiful lights and the NATIVITY at the OAKLAND TEMPLE. It was gorgeous! I am grateful for the spirit that we felt while we were there and for the birth of our SAVIOR.

THANKSGIVING FUN

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in OUR NEW HOME! We had a whole house full of FAMILY! Micah's parents came to visit from San Diego. Erin, one of his sisters, and her family came from Temecula. The kids enjoyed every minute they had with their cousins, and of course, Nana & Papa. I am so grateful for FAMILY! Both Micah and I are truly blessed to have the parents and siblings that we do. I feel very blessed to have my own parents, healthy, and just 1.7 miles down the street. I know they are there whenever I need them. Thanks everyone for making this holiday so special for us. We love you all! I think the #1 highlight of the visit was the SNOW that fell up in the Sierra's on Friday night. We were able to go up to the mountains for a couple hours and play in the SNOW before everyone had to go home! We had a FABULOUS time at the Miley Cyrus concert in Las Vegas. It was a special birthday present for Paige. She really wanted to see a Hannah Montana concert, but this was the best that we could do. I am afraid that the Hannah Montana concerts are a thing of the past. Miss Miley Cyrus is ALL GROWN UP! We went with some of our girlfriends, which made the road trip extra special. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel and took a LIMO to the concert. GNO with Miley Cyrus was definitely a night to remember!

A NEW HOME

This is a PICTURE OF OUR VIEW from our family room. We just purchased a new home this week. Escrow closed on September 17th. The home is actually 19 years old, but was well taken care of. It's on 3/4 of an acre and has SO much potential. We just need to update it a little bit and make it OUR HOME. Those are the Sierra Mountains. Lake Tahoe is on the other side if them. (About 25 minutes away.) You can see the Heavenly ski slopes from our front door. Keep you eye out for more pictures. They will be coming soon.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN SAN DIEGO

Kylie and Paige both had their 1st SOCCER GAME of the season this week. They both played the BEST I have ever seen them play and were totally into the game. It was so exciting to watch. Although winning isn't everything, it sure feels good to be the WINNER! We won both games! Great job girls! We are so proud of you. Keep up the TEAM WORK!

BACK 2 SCHOOL , Where my teacher has CLASS!

It's had to believe that it's that time of year again! The years just seem to be going by faster and faster. Kylie is in the 6th grade and is still at the elementary school for one more year! Hooray! She has a homeroom teacher, Mr. Carter, but changes classes for three other periods. It's a nice way to get them ready for the Middle School, without throwing them it with the older kids. I am very grateful for that. She has made many friends here and is loving her social life right now. Trevor is in 4th grade and is very excited about his new teacher, Mrs. Davis. He is doing so great and is so happy these days. He too has made many friends and has become very settled here in NV. Paige is in 2nd grade and is excited to be in a class with a lot of her friends and her same teacher from last year, Ms. Bickmore. Her teacher moved up to the 2nd grade this year and is TEAM TEACHING with another teacher, Mrs. Regan. They have 32 kids in the class, but there are 2 teachers ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! It's been really nice for Paige and she has popped back into her routine nicely. The good thing about the whole "looping" thing is that Ms. Bickmore already knows her strengths and weaknesses. She knows what to expect from Paige. Paige is so excited about being back in school. She loves to learn and enjoys riding the BUS with her friends!

PINON HILLS DAY at the WATER PARK

It was Pinon Hills Elementary School Day at the Water Park yesterday. All the kids had a great time playing in the water with all their friends and visiting with other friends that they haven't seen much of over the summer. The PERFECT DAY was topped off with some delicious "Dippin' Dots" ice cream! It's hard to believe that school starts in 3 days! It's going to be nice to get everyone back into a routine. However, I will miss the lazy days of summer without all the homework signatures and running around to all the various activities and practices!

Although it is not the OCEAN, this is still one of our favorite places to hang out during the SUMMER! LAKE TAHOE is so gorgeous! The water is SO CLEAN and CLEAR. You really do have to see it for your own eyes to fully appreciate it! We had to squeeze one more BEACH DAY in before school starts! It's so hard for me to believe how quickly this summer has passed by. I am so NOT READY for the Fall!

A VISIT WITH THE SEXTON FAMILY

We had a great time hanging out with the Sexton family when they came to visit! One of our favorite hightlights of the visit was playing behind the boat at Lahontan Reservoir. It was a rowdy time. The kids couldn't get enough of being bounced and thrown off the tubes. I actually took a hard tumble myself, and fractured a rib. I can't even begin to tell you how bad this injury hurts! It's painful. Thanks for coming to see us! We enjoyed every minute of having you here! Thanks Mom and Dad for providing the BOATING ENTERTAINMENT!

PAIGE'S 7TH BIRTHDAY Campout!

We celebrated Paige's 7th Birthday up in the mountains, camping. We went to Grover's Hot Springs with the Eddy Family. Their daughter, Jessie, turned 6 a couple of days before, so we did a combined BIRTHDAY PARTY celebration. It was SO MUCH FUN! We did some swimming, biking, and hiking. I think their favorite part was climbing on these huge rock formations that were next to our campground. We had a "Hannah Montana" themed party complete with the "Guitar Pinata" to go with their GIFT.... Miley Cirus tickets! All year long, Paige has been telling me that the ONLY THING she wanted for her next birthday was to see a Hannah Montana Concert. She has been relentless about it! I kept waiting for this idea of hers to go away and it NEVER did! I saw how much $Money they were getting for her last concert, and I knew that this was NOT going to happen at that price. We'll it's NOT Hannah Montana, but it's the next best thing, Miley. And, surprisingly, the pre-sale tickets were totally reasonable. ($65.00) So, April and I are each taking both of our daughters to see Miley Cyrus in Las Vegas at the end of September. Neither of my girls have ever been to a concert before. They are SO EXCITED! (As you can see by their expressions in the last picture!) Happy Birthday, Paige! XOXO

We spent the day, keeping cool, at Wild Island Water Park with Grammy and Grampy. We had tons of fun! It was hardly crowded which made it really nice. After we were completely water logged, we spent the evening at the "Star Spangled Sparks" event. They had FOOD, MUSIC, VENDORS, & FIREWORKS! It was a FABULOUS 4TH! Happy Birthday, America! SURFING IN BALI

Beautiful culture, excellent waves. Micah had a great time SURFING IN BALI with his buddy, Ryan, and a few other guys. Surfing in the warm water and the lush tropical environment, they quickly learned that all you need to SURF BALI is a board and a pair of shorts. They stayed at the Padang Padang Surf Camp, located at an excellent location on the BUKIT Peninsula, where it is always offshore somewhere!

THE BIRTHDAY BASH

It's that time of year again! We have several family members with JULY birthdays and every year we have one BIG PARTY! It's become a tradition of "Water Fights and Eating Contests." This year was no different. Thanks to the Sexton Family, we had another successful party with an Egg Toss Game (using water balloons), a Squirt Gun Fight, and a Water Balloon War. We also did a Chili Cheese Dog Contest (Who could eat 2 the fastest!), a Twinkie Contest (Who could eat 2 the fastest!) and a Watermelon Contest (Who could eat their huge piece the fastest!) I am proud to say that I, Jenniffer, did WIN the Watermelon Eating Contest. It was a close one. My mother was right on my tail and almost took it from me! We had a great time at the RHEAD FAMILY REUNION CAMPOUT at Lake Cuyamaca, CA. We got the name RHOXVILLE by combining Rhead with the two Rhead daughter's married names. (Fox & Melville) Micah's parents did a great job putting this camp-out together. We were well fed and had lots of fun with hiking, boating, fishing, and playing with the water balloons.The kids had such a blast and can hardly wait to do it again next year! It's going to be a new FUN family TRADITION. Like I always say, "The families that play together, stay together!" Thanks for a fun weekend. We love each of you!

FATHER'S DAY FISHING WITH GRAMPY!

We had a picnic and did a little fishing with my Dad for Father's Day. We went to one of his favorite little fishing holes. It was a very successful fishing day for the boys. They caught some good sized fish. We came back home and B-B-Q'd the "Catch of the Day" along with some steaks. It was delicious. Happy Father's Day, Dad! We love you.

We had a great time "Gettin' Wet" at Wild Island this week. Summer is definitely our FAVORITE season! We LOVE all the FUN water activities! We have had several afternoon rain showers lately. It's been nice to have the extra water supply, but it's kept things a little cooler.

We found out this week that Paige is very FARSIGHTED and needs to wear glasses. She had a silly time playing in the optical center at Costco. After having to make so many hard decisions on picking a color and style, she was very excited to find these cool pair of High School Musical glasses.

Trevor celebrated his birthday with his Dad and his buddy, William. They went and played miniature golf and hit some balls at the batting cages. Then, they went for PIZZA and a MOVIE. It was topped off with a SLEEPOVER and MILKSHAKES! (NO pictures were taken! Go Figure!) As a family, we celebrated Trevor's birthday at his #1 Choice...THE CRAB BUFFET! Yes, we had LOTS of yummy CRAB LEGS and PRIME RIB. A feast for a KING! (Well, at least a prince!) He was thrilled to get a pocketful of CASH from all his Grandparents! Happy Birthday, Trev! Paige had two different dance recitals this weekend and she did a great job! She has really enjoyed her weekly TAP & JAZZ classes. She has been working so hard to get each step just perfect! I know I am a little biased, but what is it about a costume, that makes those little faces SO CUTE?

After almost 3 months of keeping a very difficult secret, we were finally able to SURPRISE Micah with his Father's Day gift ~ A surfing trip to Bali! He has an awesome opportunity to have some SURFING FUN in Bali, with a buddy, who is a surf coach for a High School in Orange County, and a few other guys. They are going to have an incredible time! FISHING DERBY

Kylie and Paige enjoyed this years annual FISHING DERBY that was held at one of our local parks. Each participant is allowed to catch 2 FISH each. They give away lots of fun stuff and they have some awesome raffles! We did not win anything, but we did get to keep the FISH. Guess what we BBQ'd for dinner? (Trevor had his last baseball game at the same time, so he was not able to attend. Maybe next year!)

MAMMA MIA

My Mom and I had a great time watching the the live musical Broadway production of Momma Mia. It was only in Reno for a week, but it was FANTASTIC! We enjoyed every minute of it! We went with a large group of my Mom's friends. We ate some yummy food, had some hard laughs, and sang some FUN songs!

MEMORIAL DAY CAMP OUT!

We had our FIRST official CAMP OUT of the season this weekend. We went out to our favorite traditional camping spot, Lake Lahontan. It's definitely out in the DUSTY DESERT, but the weather was GREAT and the water was so do-able! Yes, I did actually get in it and ski myself. The kids had lots of fun playing behind the boat, skiing and tubing. They also enjoyed fishing and playing in the sand. It was very relaxing and just what we needed, a little family get-away!

I had a great time visiting some TREASURED FRIENDS from High School this past weekend. I flew to Boise, Idaho to spend separate time with both Ashley and Kim. I stayed in Meridian, Idaho with my girlfriend, Ashley. She is the proud owner of (3) restaurants called The Griddle. (Located in Meridan, ID ~ Eagle, ID ~ Winnemucca, NV) They have amazing food. Since I have been home, I have been craving their food, especially their Rosie's French Toast and Mo's Potato's. Thanks for all your wonderful hospitality! (www.thegriddle.com) Then, I drove two hours to Richfield, ID to see my girlfriend, Kim. I was able to be there for her daughter's High School GRADUATION party. How is it possible that we are this old? It seems like yesterday that we were the graduates! Kim also has a lot to be proud of! Her daughter, Krista, was the Valedictorian. She is such a beautiful girl with so much talent! I am so glad I was able to share that special day with them.

Kylie had a FUN birthday party this year! She decided that she wanted to do "Dinner and a Movie" with some of her best friends. She has made some really special friends this year and they all happen to go to school and church with her. For dinner, we went and had some CRAB LEGS at her favorite buffet in Reno. Then we went and saw the movie, MALL COP. It was ridiculously funny, with some great music! We opened gifts and played at the arcade on the way out! The night was topped off with a giggly sleepover! Surprisingly, I was able to get all the girls to sleep by 1 Am. Happy, Happy Birthday, Kylie! I can't believe that you're 11 years old!

Grammy and Grampy treated us to a day of FUN IN THE SUN at David Walley's Hot Springs & Resort, in Genoa. It was such a nice day to be outside. The weather was just perfect! After all the relaxing in all the different pools, we celebrated my birthday at their fine dining restaurant. It was so delicious! Thank you Mom and Dad for making me feel so loved. We had a wonderful trip to San Diego this week! It was so great to see so many friends and family members! We especially enjoyed our trip to the San Diego Zoo, where we saw a few other MONKEYS that looked a little familiar! HA, HA! (My kids hate it when I say that!) During the Sea Lion Show, Kylie was selected to be the lucky volunteer out of the crowd. She experienced her "FIRST WET KISS" by a sea lion. She was also able to feed him too. She was so excited. All of the kids had a really great time. It had been a few years since they had been to the zoo, which made for a greater appreciation. It was so FUN spending time with Aunt Gail and Cousin Taylor. Thanks for coming with us, girls. We love you!

Kylie has spent MANY HOURS these past few months getting ready for the ANNIE play. This was a play put on by our local Performing Arts Center. This production was children only! Back in November, she waited patiently during the 5 hours of auditions for this play. She was so excited to find out that she did get a part, actually a couple of parts. She was Annette, one of the servants. She was one of the three Boylan Sisters. And, she was in several of the Choruses. It was a great experience for her. I know she really learned a lot! We are so proud of you, Kylie! You are A STAR!

We really enjoyed having my brother and his family in town. His oldest son, Ethan, turned 13 this week. We had a huge family dinner at our home and played some Rock Band on the Wii. Trevor had his first BLUE AND GOLD DINNER this week. Each of the Scouts were asked to bring a cake that represents one of their favorite vacations. Trevor wanted to make a "CRUISE SHIP" to represent our Mexican Riviera cruise that we took in November. It was difficult to relinquish control and actually allow him to help me decorate it, but I did. It was a fun thing for us to work on together. He was so proud of HIS cake! I am so grateful for the Scouting Program. HE LOVES SCOUTS!

We had SNOW MUCH FUN this weekend, visiting with the Konold Family! We went SKIING on Friday and SLEDDING on Saturday! We were worn out and moving a little slow due to some sore muscles. The weather was so gorgeous. The sun was shining and it was actually warm. There is really something indescribable about being up in the mountains! It's so BEAUTIFUL and very RELAXING!

It was a special VALENTINES DAY this year. Our cousins, Taylor and Lexi (and Lexi's friend, Mike), came to visit from San Diego. We took them up the mountain to one of our favorite sledding areas. We had a great time playing on the sleds, having a snowball fight, and making Snow Angels! It was COLD, but the sun was shining and the sky was blue. When it was all said and done, we definitely had cold hands, but warm hearts!

Micah, and his friend Brent, bought tickets and took the girls to the DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE on Saturday night. It was a very special night that included little CORSAGES, DINNER, DANCING, and DESSERT. Friday night, my girlfriend April and I were invited to a GIRLS NIGHT IN "Pajama Party," to help a couple girls from our ward celebrate their birthdays! We had such a great time, chatting, eating yummy food, dancing, playing games, and laughing until our bellies hurt! It was a really fun night and the best part was making some NEW FRIENDSHIPS! TREVOR'S 1ST PACK MEETING!

Trevor is really into Scouts and looks forward to every Wednesday night! He was suppose to start in the summer, after he turned 8, but our ward at that time, didn't have a class for his age group. When they finally got it together, it was only a couple of weeks before our big move. Trevor decided that he wanted to wait until after we moved to get started. He's been going since November, but was finally able to attend his 1st Pack Meeting this week. It was really fun watching him get "initiated" by the rest of the Pack. They pulled him around the room in a "pink" laundry basket, by a "purple" jump rope. They also played some fun games, and had to work hard for their refreshments. (They each had to get a donut off of a dangling string, without using their hands, only their mouths.) He's working hard to complete his badges and it's exciting to see him so motivated.

Ice Skating Family Night

There is a NEW outdoor Ice Skating Rink in town this year! It is lots of fun to be outside, with the music playing. The weather was PERFECT! We had such a fun time skating with a bunch of our extended family members. There were lots of laughs as we slipped and fell many of times! The kids really enjoyed it and keep asking us... When are we going again?

A White Christmas!

We woke up on Christmas morning to a dusting of snow outside! It was so peaceful and beautiful! The kids were so excited to have "A White Christmas" this year. My father restored an old sleigh this fall, just in case Santa needed one as a back up. It was SO perfect for a family picture!
